weekend getaway. crazy school & internship week. start of weekends. scare.

spend the weekend at wisconsin, door county. it was amazing, exceptionally gorgeous, especially the autumn colours. love it. check out the photos, its my first autumn and i'm loving it! the sky was clear at night, i've never seen so many stars in my life ever before! unfortunately it was too cold, 2degrees and i didnt have my coats and warm stuff so i couldnt star gaze. we drove around the the peninsular, went through the old towns and went to the lighthouse. such a good break, lovely. the only down side about the trip was that i didnt finish my readings for the upcoming week.
monday's class was a disaster. my professor talks endlessly and he digress so much i seriously dont know what the class is about. thankfully i'm not the only one feeling this way, apparently the whole class is feeling the same about him and everyone's totally clueless whats happening. thankfully there's no exams, i just need to make sure i do my papers well. and because of his unstructured class, i have to go for extra review class conducted by a phd student just so that i know what's going on in this class. and the down side is that my wednesdays are from 9am to 4.20pm with a 30mins break. crazy. totally drained after class. exhausted. i'm finding cooking becoming a chore. its too much hassle for one person. i just got back from internship and i dont know what to eat. buying is too expensive, cooking is mafan and i cant decide what i want to eat now. zonked.
Internship was fun. I'm at vital bridges, an agency that caters to people living with HIV/AIDs. There's this other girl who is attached there with me and we stay like two streets away so we've been going for field placement together, plus she's from illinois so she'll give me insight on how to handle the winter and danger. It has been fun! This week is orientation so we're doing random manual labour. The agency has a grocer within and every week or bi-weekly, clients on the food plan will come and pick out their groceries for free. They tick a menu of what they want and we "shop" for them. its so much fun! shopping without paying. plus the products are good, pricy products, not the cheapo unwanted stuff. of cos the icing is, we can pick out things and eat it too! but i'm not really sure how much u can take exactly (we ate a box of strawberries, fresh, sweet smelling strawberries!) so i'm still behaving myself, taking only those the "snr" staff offer. there was day-old bread given away by a bakery and we could bring a loaf back! I got myself cinnamon bread and cranberry scones! yummy! case work will come but now, i want to have fun! :)
i'm getting more used to this place and am opening up more! i'm finding it easier to talk to people too, plus my fellow intern, jess, she's like me, chatty and extrovert so that helps alot. cos when i'm not talking she yaks non-stop. its good. :)
Lastly, do keep me in your prayers. There's been three assaults in my neighbourhood in the last three weeks and the latest one was yesterday night. It happened two streets away from where I live so I'm kinda freaked out now. :/ Grace and Mercy everyday!
