jabs, jabs & meds

one good thing about working in the hospital is i get to see the doctor during office hours and if its a doctor i know, he'll be kind enough to waive his consultation fees. i took on the role of a patient today and went to the travel clinic for my jabs for my cambodia trip. the downside is travel medicine is not subsidised and i blew like $200 on jabs and prophylaxis. $139 for 18 tablets! gosh, traveling to a third world country can be so costly. but oh well, i dont want to get some infection and land myself in cdc2 wards, that would be my worst nightmare. went for mantoux test which is to see if i'm a TB carrier cos of my past exposure to TB infected patients and I would be taking over TB patients after my colleague leaves. Praying very hard I'm not cos it'll be 6 months of medication and if there's spots in my lungs, US may not allow me to enter :O
results on fri. keeping my fingers crossed.
