just got back from a volunteer's appreciation night conducted by BCCSC(the agency i was having attachment with)
it was just a night of get together, eating n games. i actually won an osim foot massager from a memory contest!! me!! memory contest... it was a sabo, they wanted to get my mom up for the contest but they end up arrowing the daughter, so there i was.. dory trying to memory things.. oh well.. the guy beside me helped me along n i "memorized" everything.
the most memorable thing was when our supervisors, yingli, kenny n i just sat together to "catch up", esp on how the youths have been. it was such a wonderful sharing from our supervisors, their experience with the different clients, the relationships built..
everything just came to place for me once again.
last week was a really tiring week for me. besides the tutorial classes starting i wasnt sleeping well, i was dreaming very heavily every night so everyday was really tiring for me, i had totally no energy for my heavy 3 day week, but God has been good and He pulled me through. tonight was a reminder as to what i am heading for. after leaving the agency bout 1mth ago, that part of me was forgotten. i was back to my student life and this yr being my last yr i am pushing myself quite hard to get a higher cap score so that i can have at least a degree with merit. the whole time im just pushing myself, trying to understand my sch work really well, trying to come up with the best essay etc. throughout all these, i forgot my ultimate mission. it's not to get good grades, it's not bout beating other ppl with my grades. no. im doing this for the passion. passion for people. where have my passion gone?
studying is no longer bout getting good grades, it's bout equipping myself with the skills to help others, and when it comes to working i wont have as much time to read up and further enhance my skills, now is the only best time.
the sharing from my supervisor, how the youths miss us. no we didnt change them, but we made an impact. they will remember us as the trio. it doesnt matter as long as they remember.
people come n go. situations change constantly.but it's the little memories that ppl remember for the rest of their lives.i want to be that little memory of the people i meet.
mind's settled.direction redefined.another week ahead.more motivated.but b4 that,a weekend break ahead.phew.
;D happy.
thank you all who still read my blog.
tag a hello so i know who still comes. ;)
